Eminem and Kim... Together Again
The on-again, off-again relationship between Eminem and his ex-wife, Kimberly Mathers, is apparently back on again.
Em made an appearance Tuesday on Detroit radio station WKQI-FM's "Mojo in the Morning" show to promote his greatest-hits collection, Curtain Call.
During the interview, the Interscope rapper referred to Kim, 30, as "my wife" and told the station, "We have reconciled and are probably going to remarry."
The pair married in 1999, and in 2001 went through a bitter divorce and custody battle over daughter Hailey. Throughout Eminem's career he has made numerous references to his tumultuous relationship with his ex-wife, often berating her and sometimes even murdering her in verse.
Also during the interview, currently Eminem's only scheduled stop to promote Curtain Call, the rapper answered questions about his recent hospital stay to seek treatment for a dependency on sleep meds. Eminem announced he was getting help for the addiction after bowing out of the European leg of this year's Anger Management Tour.
Eminem told WKQI, "When I went into rehab, I kind of went into it ... with the notion of 'I'm gonna get clean, I'm gonna get off this stuff before it gets too out of hand.'"
While Slim Shady has previously denied that he's retiring, he admitted on Tuesday that he felt it appropriate to name the greatest-hits collection Curtain Call.
"I'm at a point in my life right now where I feel like I don't know where my career is going," he said. "This is the reason that we called it Curtain Call, because this could be the final thing. We don't know."
The video for "When I'm Gone" Eminem's current single off the Curtain Call was shot by director Anthony Mandler , also known for the cinematically-styled Common video "Testify." In other Eminem news, Showtime premiered concert special "Eminem Live from New York City," this past Saturday, December 3.
