Eminem, 50 Cent, Trick Daddy & Others To Be Featured On XXL Hip Hop Compilation!

Hip-hop magazine XXL highlights selected album tracks and singles from the past two years on its first compilation, XXL Raps Volume 1. Due Nov. 15, the 18-track set will be released through Razor & Tie Entertainment, marking the New York-based company's first joint album release with a magazine.

Although the featured tracks are not necessarily chart-topping hits, the artist line-up includes Eminem, 50 Cent, T.I., David Banner and Common among other prominent rappers.
Describing XXL as the "new voice of the hip-hop nation," editor in chief Elliott Wilson says the joint venture is a way for the magazine to expand its brand with the aid of popular artists.

"It was really important for us to focus on our integrity from a journalistic standpoint," says XXL executive publisher Jonathan Rheingold, who tells Billboard that the idea of producing compilations has been on the table for several years. "Then, after gaining trust from the consumer, we can grow into other areas."
