Eminem For Mayor, Supports Detroit's Very Own
Controversial Detroit mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick has been endorsed in his bid for re-election by controversial Detroit emcee, Eminem.
Last Friday, in front of 42,000-plus fans during the Detroit stop of the Anger Management 3 Tour, hometown hero Eminem gave a shout-out to Kwame Kilpatrick. Kilpatrick, also in attendance at Comerica Park, heard Slim Shady's urges for the crowd to "make some noise for the mayor, the Hip-Hop mayor."
Earlier in the month on August 4th, a Detroit poll showed that Kwame Kilpatrick's opponent, Freman Hendrix's was ahead by 19 percentage points in the polls.
A mixture of cheers and boos were given in reply to Em's request. Em even acknowledged on stage, "a little bit of a mixed reaction" from the crowd. In the past, Mathers and Kilpatrick's relationship has been good. The rapper recently performed at a fundraiser for the annual Fourth of July fireworks in Detroit at the behest of the mayor.
