Eminem & 50 Cent To Raid An Irish Castle
Eminem and 50 Cent are scheduled to headline a concert at Lord Henry Mountcharles' Slane Castle in County Meath, Ireland this September.
Castle owner Lord Henry Mountcharles confirmed that Em and Fiddy would take the stage at the 80,000-capacity venue. Back in 2003, Mountcharles, a Nothern Ireland-born poet, declared that Slim's "verbal energy" had "sent a voltage around a generation." He added that it was a "privilege" that Em will be performing at his castle.
"There was no other choice, I hadn't selected anybody else," Mountcharles told BBC News. "I made it unequivocally clear that it was an artist I wanted to play. This is something completely different and we are proud of that."
The concert is set to be the last date of Em's European tour. D12, Obie Trice, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Olivia, Flypside and Stat Quo will also perform during the concert.
Em, who embarks on the Anger Management 3 tour next week, said he's likely to prepare a different routine for the event.
"Every tour we try to up the stakes; there will be little surprises here and there. You don't know what may happen," Slim told BBC News. "We don't have anything picked out yet. All I know is it is going to be big."
Last year's concert was headlined by Madonna and included performances by Rock acts U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers and British singer Robbie Williams. The castle is located 20 miles north of Dublin, Ireland and has served as a concert venue since 1981. Rock acts like Bruce Springsteen and the English band Queen performed there in the 1980s.
