Eminem Gets Multi-Mill Deal For 'Encore'
Eminem has just signed a multi-million dollar publishing deal with EMI for his recent release, Encore.
Slim usually signs separate publishing deals for each album and opted for EMI for his fourth effort. The agreement provides EMI with the international rights to the album.
"We're looking at this as an opportunity to be in business with him for a long time," Martin Bandier, EMI Music Publishing Chief told the New York Post. "It's a huge deal because he's clearly the biggest rock 'n' roll star in the business. He may be a rapper, but he's a rock 'n' roll star."
Sources say the deal is worth close to $7.5 million and includes the publishing rights to the 8 Mile soundtrack.
