news about XXL Em issue

The XXL site has posted the editorial from the Em issue (which
discusses Em, the Source and the tape stuff). You can see the new pic
of Em on the cover too. It's here: http://www.xxlmag.com The site
says the issue is available now at news stands. Looks like they have
an article about Stat Quo as well (new signee to Shady/Aftermath).

This is a quote from the feature Eminem interview: ""The worst part
that's gonna come out of this is people are gonna realize that I was
like any other stupid kid at 16. You do and say dumb nuts. You don't
even necessarily mean it. But you do it and you don't think about it.
That's part of growing up and discovering who you are."

Here's the editorial:

Game Over

"You ain't the muthaf**kin' man no more, I'm the one. nuts has
changed. It's a new day, bruh. If you can't clean up your act, I
suggest you raise the f**k up and get the hell out of dodge. Or get
caught up." --Birdie

The whole thing's nutso, if you ask me. Even I am astounded by how
far this vendetta has gone. Who would think that a full year after my
colossal Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent cover, I would still be
benefiting from the adversarial approach of my rival publication?
They brand the top rapper in the game a racist and instead of Slim
Shady heading over there with his tail between his legs, the blond
bomber bares his soul and separates fact from fiction in the only hip-
hop magazine that matters-- XXL . Thanks for the Marbury assist (We
can work it out, Knicks!).

A comment was made that if the mystery man brought the cassette of
Eminem's golden-age prejudiced comments 'round here, we would keep it
in the closet like Michael Jackson's touchy-feely ways. (I really
don't mean to diss the boy Michael Jackson. I got a lot of CDs from
the boy Michael Jackson.) Well, if the gift-giver wouldn't reveal his
true identity and his only agenda seemed to be one of revenge, I
wouldn't bite. See, we're not the Hip-Hop Enquirer, we're XXL . The
only White-owned rap publication with integrity thanks to the
leadership of a biracial brother who calls himself YN. That's Yellow
***** to you, kind sir.

Let's be clear: Hip-hop culture was raped by the corporate White man
way before Eminem was making funky basement tunes. Just ask any MC
who rocked the house before Run-DMC kicked in the mainstream door.
You don't think Melle Mel needs a check? Record company business is
modern-day slavery for anyone who can't work the system properly.
It's sad, but true. Don't cry, boo.

The world is filled with pimps and hoes, but there's plenty more
hypocrites. To me this whole thing isn't about racism, it's about
capitalism. Those who have it and the have-nots. Marshall Mathers can
stack his money 'til it gets sky-high, and his old associates would
love a piece of the action (they admit it themselves). Any rapper on
his road to riches has left a few of his chummy comrades behind. What
better way to get back at your now-famous former friend than to
badmouth him in a magazine? Assassinate his character for your own
personal moment of attention and fame.

Me? I'm comfortable, dawg. No financial problems here. I'll continue
to cash nice checks from White men who allow me to have more creative
freedom than any EIC in the business. I'll even take things to
another level and break bread with those so-called evil powers at
Viacom. That's right, MTV2 and my crew bring to you hip-hop's 10 Most
Anticipated Hip-Hop Albums of 2004. Get the DVRs and Tivos ready for
the accompanying TV special.

It's just another dope issue: we polly with rap's hottest new stars,
the Young Gunz; pay proper homage to the late Big Pun; reveal who the
dancing machine Farnsworth Bentley really is; celebrate the release
of one of hip-hop's true greats, Slick Rick; introduce you readers to
Stat Quo; show Cassidy's versatility; teach you how to stunt the
grown-up way; and give Jin Tha MC a little friendly advice: C'mon
freestyle king, you're better than that.

All in all, another banger. My resolution is domination. XXL TV, XXL
records, XXL books, XXL everything. You wanna play the race card to
try and defeat me? You're barking up the wrong tree, patna. I'm an
authority on race (peep ego trip's Big Book Of Racism! and the
upcoming special, TV Race Riot! On VH1, son!) and I'm shameless,
those who don't like it can kiss my anus. Take that, rewind it back.
XXL is the truth, must I remind you that.
