EMIN-FM - MARSHALL HITS THE AIRWAVES
Starting this autumn, Eminem will begin broadcasting on his own radio network and, in the words of the man himself, the station will operate by the mantra: "No middleman, no playlists, no bullnuts. And most of all, no censorship." Rumours that the station will be called Diss FM are currently unconfirmed…

Listeners will need a special receiver and pay for a subscription, but in return, Eminem is promising fans a different kind of listening experience. "This channel gives me a direct outlet to the streets and our audience," he explains, and as satellite radio is commercial-free, the station won't face pressure from advertisers to tone down its act.

The station will not, however, just be showcasing the music of Marshall, D-12 and friends and promises to play tracks from all across the hip-hop board, from old-school to new releases.

While actual programming plans for the station are still to be decided, mix-tape DJ Green Lantern is already confirmed to have a show and says Eminem's influence will be everywhere. "Me and Em might sit down and say, 'This is some of the music that shaped my life,' and I might put together a whole two-hour block.”

When asked if station owners Sirius were worried that the hip-hop star may take things a little too far, Scott Greenstein (Sirius president of entertainment and sports) responded saying "Not in any way, shape or form, he's entitled to say what he wants." (xfm)
